Amaan and Ayaan addressed the audience with a short speech about what inspired them to write the book and then went on to read a brief excerpt from the book, which takes readers through encounters with fifty Indian Classical musicians from the twentieth century, from the instrumental to the vocal, exploring the world of both Northern and Southern Indian music. Filled with personal anecdotes and musical appraisal, the 50 Maestro 50 Recordings is an invaluable guide to the best of Indian Classical music. Interspersed with some rare photographs from the authors’ personal collection as well as descriptions and details of every recording they have discussed, this book is an invaluable companion to the appreciation of Indian Classical music. After the reading, the two young artistes took questions from the audience members.
