AMALGAM
Amalgam is a follow-up on the highly acclaimed album "Soul Strings" released in September of 2015, in which sarod virtuoso Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash joined forces with American classical violinist Elmira Darvarova to create a unique collaboration, a bridge between their respective musical traditions which were carried whole and un-compromised. Amalgam brilliantly confirms this daring, supercharged, yet profoundly respectful and even affectionate meeting of these musical minds, made all the more profound by the inclusion of Amjad Ali Khan, the father of featured sarod virtuosos Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash, universally beloved and venerated elder statesman not only of the Sarod, but also for the larger world of Indian Classical Music today, and composer of the classical Indian ragas featured on this album as well as "Soul Strings." In addition, "Amalgam" features a solo work composed and performed by Grammy-nominated violinist Elmira Darvarova, powerfully informed by the folk traditions of her own Bulgarian roots. Amalgam brings new meaning and a redefinition to the description "World Music" as it crosses and joins classical genres of the east and west with brilliant musicianship in world premiere performances.

Everything is Everywhere, a brand new collaborative project between Amjad Ali Khan, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash and folk singer-songwriter Carrie Newcomer. A love for haunting melody lines, an attraction to compelling rhythms and a sense of deep spiritual grounding are the connecting threads in this new collaborative project. Everything is Everywhere is the aural embodiment of East meets West with an elegant and extraordinary bridge between Indian classical tradition and Western songwriting form. Amjad Ali Khan, Carrie Newcomer, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash are accompanied by Grammy nominated percussionist Jim Brock and pianist Gary Walters on this album. Yaara' meaning 'the beloved', is a celebration of love, poetry and togetherness. A turning point in music, in this album Pankaj Udhas sings to the masterful compositions of the legendary Ustad Amjad Ali Khan for the first time ever. What ensues is pure musical magic and the brilliance of an artiste and composer.

The album is a mix of passionate love ballads as well as peppy numbers, drenched in the beauty of poetry and music. It packs in energy, folk flavour and soft romance in the enthralling voice of Pankaj Udhas.
